Jimmie Spragans

Jimmie L Spragans is originally from Newport News, VA. He served in the US Army for 9 years and is a Desert Storm Veteran. Mr. Spragans comes to Visions Family Services with 13 years of experience in the mental health field. He has a M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University and a B.S in Individualized Studies with a Specialization in Psychology from Virginia State University. He is currently working on his PhD in Business Psychology at the Chicago School of Psychology in Washington, D.C. Throughout his career, he has held such positions as Mental Health Specialist II, Human Rights Coordinator, Crisis Stabilization Lead Counselor, Crisis Stabilization Program Manager, Site Coordinator, Director of Residential Services, and Director of Programs. In his spare time, Mr. Spragans gives back to the community by coaching little league recreation football and mentoring young males. He also created an organization entitled the “Man Law Initiative” that helps fatherless young males cope with father absence and become productive young men in our community through mentoring. Mr. Spragans believes that one should lead with emotion; not by emotion. His motto is, “Leaders Make it Happen!”
